The Theodore Vail – Most Outstanding JA Alumni

Mr. Edward K. Lee

Founder & Chairman, COL Financial Group, Inc.

Junior Achievement Philippines remains loyal to its advocacy of providing entrepreneurial opportunities for the youth. Through these efforts, the youth become aware at an early age about the importance of investment and how being a caretaker of money can place you to success.

With this, a living proof of hard work and determination deems worthy of recognition. We are proud to present this Outstanding JA Alumni Award for an excellent performance in the world of business and for giving prestige to Junior Achievement Philippines.

This alumnus is concurrently the Founder and Chairman of the Board of COL since 1999, COL Securities (HK) Limited since 2001, and Citisecurities, Inc since 1986. He has also been the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the CWC Group of Companies which include CWC Development, Inc., Barrington Carpets, Inc., Citimex, Inc. and CWC International, Inc. for the past 36 years. He served as a nominee of Citisecurities, Inc. to the Manila Stock Exchange and presently to the Philippine Stock Exchange. He was elected as one of the Governors of the Philippine Stock Exchange and was the Chairman of the Computerization committee of the Manila Stock Exchange and PSE in 1994.  He went on to become a member of the Board of Directors of A. Soriano Corporation serving for two terms. In 2007, he was nominated as Entrepreneur of the Year Philippines by Ernst & Young.

He is a proud JAPI graduate during the 70’s and continually makes use of his learnings to run his billion-worth businesses.

Who would have thought that this young lad came from a family with hard-up beginnings, but is now one of the wealthiest men in the country?
